Face Mountain
January 22, 2022

Face Mountain, as seen from where the Agua Caliente Road starts on the south end by Hyder. The highpoint is the hump to the right

The face (officially known as Montezuma Head), Face Mountain Highpoint, and Montezuma Benchmark Peak

At the saddle, I start upslope. The summit ridge is above, and lots of cholla

The slope I ascended, and cholla

Almost at the top ridge, and cholla

On the top ridge, and cholla

A slope to climb on the top ridge, and cholla

Couple more barriers to get past, almost there, and cholla

Looking back at Montezuma Head from below the summit, and cholla

The top! and cholla

Below the saddle, this is the view of the canyon and desert flats. I parked somewhere in front of those darker pointy hills

The Face itself in profile

The Face and the highpoint

All three, in better lighting
