Salome Peak
March 10, 2019

Salome Peak from a distance

Now about a mile away

Almost to the road's end

View outward as we ascend the drainage

Looking up the drainage at some fun slabby dryfalls

Now out of the drainage, looking up at the summit and its multitude of rocks

The next bump above is Knob 3,380

Now on Knob 3,380, we crossed that next rockband through the opening to the lower right. Although we are close, we still have over 600 vertical feet to go

Now much higher, we angled right below the "bird beak" rock outcrop

The final hundred feet, the summit cairn is barely visible

Now it's more visible

View southwest: Signal Peak to the left, the flat-topped Black Mesa in the Plomosa Range, and Cunningham Peak in back

North view: Crossman Peak and the Hualapai Range in back. The pointier summit in the mid-distance is Planet Peak

Harcuvar Peak

View east toward Harquahala Mountain and the town of Salome

Me at the cairn, the two reference markers, and a stone "hand" on one rock

That old "room" at the base of the mountain
