I visited this confluence after hiking Madre Mountain earlier today and as I was driving eastbound toward Socorro. This pointis located about a mile south of US-60 between Magdalena and Socorro in a small canyon called The Box, named for its blocky cliffs that form walls within this canyon, which is popular, so I have read, with rock climbers. It was hot, about 95°, but the hike was short and fortunately level, the point being on a slope below a bluff overlooking this canyon. This was my first lat-long confluence visited in 7 years, the previous one also being in New Mexico.
