We drove to Memphis, Tennessee over a period of seven days. I won't go into details why. It was just a simple matter of following Interstate-40 a long ways.

For me, this was the farthest east I've ever driven from Arizona. I still have not done a cross-country drive, even at my advanced age. But I was interested to cross the Mississippi River, a symbolic yet tangible goal to claim.

We toured the park along the river, listened to some music, walked a little on Beale Street. I was only here a few hours, flying back to Arizona that night.

I love my wife.
