• Served as bench coach for Jersey and San Diego, November 25, 1973 through end of 1974-75 season.
• Relieved as coach on February 5, 1978, succeeded by Bill Goldsworthy.

Excerpts from Zander Hollander Complete Hockey Handbook, 1975-76 (by Reyn Davis)

His efficiency as director of player personnel and capable handling of the bench under playing-coach Harry Howell prompted Ingram's promotion to coach ... Likes the hard-nosed style a practice he preaches in San Diego ... Guided the Syracuse Blazers to three North American Hockey League championships in three years, prior to joining the Mariners ... Banged-up knees caused his retirement as a player after 18 fruitful years as a hard-hitting pro ... A cofounder of the NHL Players Association ... Engineered the acquisition of goaltender Ernie Wakely from Winnipeg and tough defenseman Jim Hargreaves from Indianapolis in a pair of deals that improved San Diego vastly in the second-half of 1974-75.
