Excerpts from Zander Hollander Complete Hockey Handbook, 1975-76 (by Reyn Davis)

Most quotable coach in the league when he's around... Has been known to disappear after a particularly upsetting loss... Not a traditionalist in any way, though he likes his teams tough... Subject of much publicity during playoffs when he was attacked by the Saints hammer, Gord "Machine Gun" Gallant in a post-curfew incident... Gallant was gone, but Neale, through swollen lips and black eyes, would only express his disappointment in Gallant and hoped that what he had done would not end what could be a good career... There should be more Harry Neales behind hockey's benches.
