1977 Dispersal Drafts
Minnesota (II) folded in January 1977 but managed to sell almost half its roster before formally disbanding. Phoenix sold seven of its principal players in March 1977 under the agreement the players would finish the season in Phoenix. No drafts were held for the remaining players, nor of those from San Diego and Calgary. All became free agents after each team's demise. |
Minnesota: Butch Deadmarsh, John Arbour and Danny Gruen sold to Calgary; Mike Antonovich, Bill Butters, Steve Carlson, Jack Carlson, Dave Keon, John McKenzie, Louis Levasseur sold to Edmonton. Phoenix: Robbie Ftorek, Del Hall and Clay Hebenton: sold to Cincinnati; Serge Beaudoin, Duane Bray and Jerry Rollins: sold to Edmonton; Garry Lariviere: sold to Quebec. |
