Regular Season & Playoff Scoring Record (key)

Speedy left-winger was a second round pick of both New England and Chicago of the NHL, choosing to sign a multi-year pact with the Whalers ... Scored 38, 42 and 44 goals in three seasons with Saskatoon of the Western Hockey League ... Makes up for small size with quickness ... Says coach-GM Jack Kelley, "He can dart up and down the left side with anyone in pro hockey." ... Has a hard shot ... Touted to be in the same mold as Buffalo's Danny Gare, last year's outstanding rookie

The Whalers faced heavy compet1t1on from the Chicago Black Hawks of the National Hockey League, but managed to convince Danny Arndt to choose New England.
"I liked Hartford better," Arndt said at the time. "I like the rural-type area better than the big city. The country around here reminds me of Saskatoon."
The adjustment to WHA hockey was more difficult. "Danny just couldn't get space to operate," says coach Neale. "It was a very tough beginning. But he can skate, he can shoot, he's very dedicated and he's in great shape. I think what he needs is some
success, to get some goals and get thinking positively."
