Excerpts from Zander Hollander's Guide to Pro Hockey, 1973-74 (by Reyn Davis & Charley Hallman)

Came to Crusaders in the Rick Smith deal ... Had 40 points for the Fighting Saints in 1972-73 ... Should shore up leaky Crusader defense ... One of the great hip checkers in the game ... Best NHL season was with Philadelphia in 1969-70 when he had 7 goals and 18 assists for 25 points ... Had 17 goals and 39 assists for Cincinnati of the AHL in 1971-72 ... Made All Star squad in WHA first season ... Top playoff performer ... A rusher who can also play point on the power play ... Hard low shooter.

Excerpts from Zander Hollander's Guide to Pro Hockey, 1975-76 (by Reyn Davis)

Shots rates among the WHA's best from inside the blueline ... Throws a super hipcheck ... One of his favorite targets is Bobby Hull ... Size, or lack of it, is a handicap ... Went from the doghouse to the penthouse in management's eyes during his three years as a Saint ... Tied Doug Barrie for 10th place among top-scoring defensemen ... Figured third in assists among the Saints, behind only Mike Walton, John Arbour and Fran Huck
