Set the league record for most penalties in minutes, 365, engaging in 29 fights, drawing 13 misconducts and 45 minors ... A league high of 39 goals were scored while he watched from the penalty box ... Committed to cooling his act next season, providing the league doesn't rule to make it almost impossible for him to play ... Has a barrel chest and huge hands ... Can skate decently fast, once he gets going ... Built a cabin near his home in the ranching country community of Williams lake, British Columbia.

Excerpts from Pro Hockey, WHA 1976-77 (by Dan Proudfoot)
With one final burst of bullying and bloodshed, 200-pound Curt Brackenbury was able to win the WHA penalty crown. It wasn't easy; Kim Clackson of Indianapolis had been the outstanding tough of the first half of the season, but Brackenbury came on late when Nordiques were trying to prove their toughness.
So, he ended up with a record 365 minutes in penalties: more than six hours accumulated at a rate of almost five minutes a game.
He firmly established himself as Quebec's hired gun by getting 111 penalty minutes in only 15 games as a Nordique. Brackenbury played with the Minnesota Fighting Saints until the team folded.
