Excerpts from Pro Hockey, WHA 1975-76 (by Dan Proudfoot)
He's only 32, which means he's an adolescent by goaltending standards, but Joe Daley has played in eight different cities. By comparison his partner in goal, Curt Larssen, has hardly been around at all, despite his previous experience with the Swedish National team.
Winnipeg, however, was where Daley was born, and he's only one of several players who have chosen to return to play for the Jets. Daley is an adequate goaltender whose average reflects the skills of the Jet defence. Two years ago he averaged 3.98 goals a game in 41 appearances. Last season he cut it down to 3.62 in 51 games, and with more help from the improved blueline staff he can be among the league's leading netminders.

Excerpts from Zander Hollander Complete Hockey Handbook, 1975-76 (by Reyn Davis)
Devoutly religious and active in Christian athlete movements... Started the 1975 All Star game for the West... Maker of speeches, not always popular with everyone... Lamented the Jets wide-open, non-defensive style that is especially hard on goaltenders on both sides... Is coming off his busiest season in Major League hockey... Toured 14 cities in 10 years before coming home to Winnipeg in 1972-73... Has colorful style... One of the last goaltenders to don a mask.

Excerpts from Zander Hollander's Guide to Pro Hockey, 1978-79 (by Reyn Davis)
He's won more games than any other goaltender in the WHA ... Last season he posted a 21-11-1 record ... Missed several starts late last season when he suffered a broken hand making a miraculous catch off Houston's Rich Preston ... Only Al Smith of New England has a better goals-against average (3.22) ... A WHA pioneer and an original member of the Jets ... Helps raise thousands of dollars for the mentally disabled by being an honorary commodore of a canoe-a-thon down the Red River ... Fiery competitor who, as a junior, slugged one of his own defensemen
