Excerpts from Pro Hockey, WHA 1976-77 (by Dan Proudfoot)
The outstanding goalie of the 1975-76 season was Michel Dion, much to the disgust of Winnipeg coach Bobby Kromm, who felt his man, Joe Daley, should have won the prize.
But Dion's goals-against average of 2.74 was the best in the WHA, and Kromm's complaint that Daley played 62 games, twice as many as Dion, didn't hold. "The guy has so much confidence," says Dion's coach, Jacques Demers. "It doesn't matter who's shooting, he defies them to beat him."
