Toros Bursting With Stars but Farda Big Surprise (excerpt) by Tony Gallagher The Hockey News December 6, 1974
... And while Harris and the Toros knew that Paul Henderson, Wayne Dillon and Vaclav Nedomansky would have good years, it's been Richard Farda who's been surprising people around the league. He's no great goal scorer, but Harris feels he's been making an outstanding contribution.
"He's actually made the switch to Canadian style hockey quicker than Nedomansky," said Harris of his Czech-born left winger. "He skates up and down his wing with authority and he's a tremendous checker. It's only a matter of time
before he starts scoring. He's a real good one."
Farda, who was largely ignored by most observers when the Toros landed the two Czechs last summer, scored his first two goals of season in a losing cause in Edmonton. But the 15,000-plus fans saw the little winger have his best game offensively, and gained an idea of what Harris was talking about.
"Nedomansky is such a great offensive hockey player, he's still learning about the defenses and the goalkeepers." said Harris. "Farda plays a more defensive style."
