Excerpts from Zander Hollander Complete Hockey Handbook, 1975-76 (by Reyn Davis)

An All Star and deservedly so . . . Fashioned a 33-10 record in 43 starts . . . Led all WHA goalies with a goals-against average of 3.03 . . . Stoned San Diego Mariners in the playoffs, allowing only one goal in the first three games . . . Impeccably well groomed . . . Graduate of Denver university . . . opening in Aeros lineup was created for Ron when Don McLeod fled to Vancouver for the contract he thought he deserved . . . Aeros didn't panic when the cloud left . . . Little wonder . . . Grahame was shaken somewhat on the night of February 15, 1975, when Bobby Hull fired three behind him to match Maurice "The Rocket" Richard's 30-year-old record of 50 goals in 50 games . . . Gained some solace March 27, when he made Hull and the Jets the victims of his fourth shutout, 8-0, on the night Gordie Howe became the first player in hockey history to collect 2,000 points.

Excerpts from Pro Hockey, WHA 1976-77 (by Dan Proudfoot)

Ron Grahame is serious about his game --- perhaps too serious. After tiring in the 1976 quarter-finals against San Diego, he then found fault with himself in action against New England.

"I'm just not doing the job," he complained. "We should be sharp and ready to play but I'm not sharp. I'm not tired and I'm rested. I just don't know what it is." And yet Grahame, the outstanding goalie of the 1975-76 WHA season, was among the top netminders in 57 games during the regular season.

"He's a tremendous competitor," says Jack Stanfield, "and a very intense individual. Sometimes he gets down on himself too much, without reason. We have faith in him. He's only 26 and he's tremendously talented, as well as being a great team man."
