Excerpts from Zander Hollander's Guide to Pro Hockey, 1975-76 (by Reyn Davis)

Crusaders' top scorer in 1974-75, collecting 65 points --- one more than Al McDonough ... By far Cleveland's most consistently good performer last season ... Has rough edges, but works hard to smooth them over ... Never satisfied, no matter how many goals he scores or sets up ... Spent more time in the penalty box than any other club scoring champion, with 122 minutes ... The center of Crusaders fans' affections ... A blue-collar hockey player

Excerpts from Pro Hockey, WHA 1976-77 (by Dan Proudfoot)

Whatever the team paid, the Cincinnati Stingers got a bargain when they acquired Richie Leduc from the Cleveland Crusaders in a cash deal. Leduc got 36 goals and 22 assists in the regular season with Cleveland, and added two goals and an assist in the three playoff games that the Crusaders lasted.

So Leduc comes with impressive enough statistics. But chances are he'll produce even higher totals in the happy surroundings of the Stingers. "He fits right in with our plans," says Jerry Rafter, Cincinnati's director of player personnel. "He's a wind-up toy out there --- he never stops."
