Regular Season & Playoff Scoring Record (key)

Despite heavy competition, the unhappiest man in Washington in 1974-75 may have been Bill Lesuk. He played for the Washington Capitals and he hated it.
"Maybe other guys can take this, losing night after night, but I know I can't," said Lesuk. Capitals set NHL futility records, winning only eight games, losing 67. "It's humiliating. There's nothing funny about it."
Lesuk was ready to jump at the chance, then, when he got the Opportunity to move to a winning team. Jets wanted his checking and his competitive fire. Lesuk has a gift for not scoring goals, unfortunately, but his lack of production doesn't detract from his real value.
"We've been known as a skating team," says manager Pilous, "so a lot of teams try to knock us off balance. We run into a lot of belligerence. This is where Bill comes into the picture."

Left Washington after playing out his option to sign with Winnipeg... Voted Capitals' Unsung Hero by the fans... Won a similar honor while with Philadelphia... One Capitals official said if "Sukie's" hustle had rubbed off, club would have won more... Scored fastest opening goal by a Capital, 24 seconds... Also combined with Ron Lalonde to score shorthanded goals 32 seconds apart in a 5-2 loss to the Seals... Started in Boston system... Was purchased by Philadelphia from Hershey... "Shadowed" Bobby Hull into fits of irritation... Physical fitness fanatic... Collects antique cars.
