Regular Season & Playoff Scoring Record (key)

Spent vast amounts of time on the ice in 1974-75, as Pat Stapleton convalesced from a herniated disc in his neck and the pain of trying to keep a franchise afloat in Chicago ... Enjoys hitting and can intimidate ... Built like a gladiator and stays that way working on weights and doing sit-ups on a daily basis ... Graduated from Calgary Centennials, like two teammates — Mark Lomenda and Bob Liddington ... Nickname is "Maggie", but be advised to know him well before using it ... A fluid skater who, despite his mobility and booming shot, must be labeled a defensive defenseman ... Led his teammates last winter with an efficiency rating of +17.

Like anyone else, Darryl Maggs hates moving. Suitcases get lost, lamps get broken, the kids have to find new friends, right? Well, Maggs has had more than his share of moves in recent years, and the fact is that it was getting him down. Consequently, he loves Indianapolis. In his first weeks in the Speedway City he noticed that numerous Racers were buying houses in the new city. By the playoffs, Maggs knew the entire story: Indianapolis fans love hockey, and the players are treated royally. A good place to settle.
"He'll help us even more in the future than he did in the months after we got him," says Racer coach Demers. "He has a multi-year contract and he knows we want him around."
Since 1972, the 195-pound defenseman has thrown his weight around for Chicago Black Hawks, California Golden Seals, Chicago Cougars, Denver Spurs and Ottawa Civics. Naturally he's anxious for a little security.
