George Morrison
George Harold Morrison
Height: 6-1

Regular Season & Playoff Scoring Record (key)

The assignment was clear: George Morrison was to gain 10 pounds or more during one vacation by endlessly gobbling up ice cream sundaes, drinking instant breakfasts at all hours, and spending hours lifting weights.
Morrison did as the St. Louis Blues asked, and then became ill at training camp and lost all the weight anyhow. The whole sad story developed in 1971, after Morrison had been impressive in his rookie NHL year but had seemed to lack endurance. He stayed skinny.
"George is still a lean guy," says Glen Sonmor, the Saints manager, "He does have a little problem with fatigue and getting the flu... but he can skate and handle the puck".
Sonmor, however, isn't about to prescribe ice cream to help Morrison score more while requiring less rest.

Certainly one of the five fastest skaters in the league ... His crowd includes Anders Hedberg of Winnipeg, Marc Tardif of Quebec, and Mark Howw of Houston ... Not especially suited to the compact Corral in Calgary, Lake Superior suits him more ... Works with his father in Toronto contracting business in the offseason ... Enjoys golf and tennis ... Attended the University of Denver on a hockey scholarship ... Once traded by the St. Louis Blues to the Buffalo Sabres for his present teammate, Chris Evans ... Nicknames include Gazelle, Racehorse and Greyhound.
