• Member, United States Olympic Team, 1972.

Excerpts from Zander Hollander's Guide to Pro Hockey, 1973-74 (by Reyn Davis & Charley Hallman)

One of the top products of American hockey ... Sheehy is from International Falls, Minnesota, although he was born two miles inside Canada ... Once called by Scotty Bowman "the best 15-year-old hockey player I've seen" ... Add 33 goals and 71 points as a rookie and added 23 points in the playoffs ... Handsome bachelor played two years for United States National and Olympic teams ... Twice a first-team All-American at Boston College where he set all-time records ... Has very close ties with Kennedy family.

Excerpts from Pro Hockey, WHA 1976-77 (by Dan Proudfoot)

... Sheehy was the captain of the 1971-72 U.S. Olympic team, after setting records at Boston College. Oilers traded their one-time top scorer, Ron Climie, to get him and Sheehy has been an important contributor ever since.
