Excerpts from Zander Hollander Complete Hockey Handbook, 1975-76 (by Reyn Davis)

Stops more shots than some goaltenders ... Uses anything and everything to knock down pucks ... Risks don't scare him ... Nicknamed "Turbo" ... Excels at killing penalties ... Often battered and bruised from his Evel Knievel style of hockey ... In the 1974-75 campaign alone, he had his thumb broken, his nose broken and a shoulder separated but still appeared in 60 games ... A favorite of fans and his coach, Joe Crozier, who accompanied him to the WHA from Buffalo.
