Excerpts from Pro Hockey, WHA 1975-76 (by Dan Proudfoot)

Cleveland Crusaders regard Russ Walker as a student. He's still learning the important aspects of the game, yet he scored 14 goals and, more significantly, he had an excellent defensive record in 1974-75.

The 22-year-old is entering his third year as a pro and this, according to manager Jack Vivian, is the time for him to blossom. "He has a tremendous shot, which the statistics don't reveal", says Vivian. "He's developing as a corner man, too, so if you put all this together with the attention he pays his defensive game, you understand the potential we saw when we drafted him."

Excerpts from Zander Hollander's Guide to Pro Hockey, 1975-76 (by Reyn Davis)

One of the Saskatchewan Crusaders, along with Paul Shmyr and Gerry Pinder ... His greatest ability is his passion to work ... Fires the hardest shot in Cleveland ... Doesn't handle a puck especially well, but is improving ... A converted defenseman ... Healthy, handsome appearance and eagerness to work have made him a fan favorite in Cleveland ... Had the highest efficiency factor on the team (+16)
